While Adobe Flash 9 isn't necessarily a codec, it is a proprietary media format/application that you'll probably want if you are a big flashy webpage surfer. All you have to do to get Flash going in your Firefox web browser is open up "Synaptic Package Manager" again from the System.. Administration menu. Next, click the "Search" button and search for the term "flash". In the results, select the "flashplugin-nonfree" entry and mark it for installation. Click the "Apply" button and wait for the install to finish. If you don't see the "flashplugin-nonfree" entry in your search results, then you may not have the right repositories selected. Look at the previous slides for instructions on how to set this up. Once the install has finished, close out any instances of Firefox you have running, then start a new copy of Firefox and go to some flashy website to verify that your plugin is installed and working correctly.
