Today we want to try to recover files off of a failed hard disk. I don't have a failed hard disk to use so we are going to use the same technique we used in the last meeting to forcefully fail a hard disk. After that we'll use a program called photorec from within the testdisk package to recover the images, sounds, etc. off of the disk and then try to rename the files to something meaningful based on the metadata within the files.
